CRNA school is becoming increasingly popular, not only is it competitive to gain entrance into CRNA school, but it can also be expensive to fund. If you have been accepted into CRNA school or are interested in CRNA school, and are wondering how you pay for your living expenses while in school (given that most of the time students can not work because of the demanding schedule), the answer is loans, loans, and more student loans (scholarships, work study programs, and savings… if you are lucky enough).
Becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is hard work, so you might as well began that hard work while searching out student loans and other financial aid for your CRNA school.
If CRNA school is years in the future for you, I would suggest saving immediately. The more money you have saved up, the less student loans you will need to take out.
If CRNA school is right around the corner for you, then like any other student you are first going to need to apply for the FAFSA. The FAFSA will determine what you will receive in federal student loans, and other federal financial aid.
Next, you can apply for all the scholarships, grants, and/or work study programs you can find. This is FREE money for CRNA school and is a step that should not be skipped.
After that if you still need more money for CRNA school, apply for the Grad Plus loan, beyond that you will need to find private student loans if you are still short on funds.
good luck!
