Here is a great scholarship opportunity for anyone who has had a grandfather or great grandfather give their service during the Korean War. The American Legion has done a wonderful job of providing scholarships to students over the years, and Samsung has now teamed up with the American Legion to offer this scholarship to high school students.
To honor Korean War veterans, Samsung and The American Legion annually award $300,000 in scholarships to nearly 100 Boys State and Girls State participants who are direct descendants of a veteran eligible for Legion membership. Samsung scholarships are for undergraduate study only and may be used for tuition, books, fees, and room and board. Winners are selected according to academic record, involvement in school and community activities, community service and financial need. Applicants who are direct descendants of Korean War veterans will receive special consideration.
