The James Beard Culinary Scholarships are a great scholarship opportunity for any student interested in entering the culinary field. The Friends of James Beard Foundation Scholarships and the James Beard Foundation School Scholarships have been established to help and aid those students who wish to become culinary professionals by furthering their education at a licensed or accredited culinary school.
Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in an accredited culinary school, or who are already enrolled at least part-time in an accredited culinary school, working towards an associate degree or bachelors degree in culinary arts. James Beard Culinary Scholarship winners are selected on a number of different qualifications including: academic record, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and financial need.
