How to Get a Student Loan Without a Co-signer

We would like to address the question of how to get a student loan without a co-signer is this student loan blog post. This is one of the student loan questions we receive all the time, because there are many students out there who have bad credit or simply no credit at all.

The honest answer to this question is that Federal loans (such as the Stafford loan) are not based on your credit history, so you will not need a co-signer for these type of student loans. The drawback to these student loans is they often do not cover the full cost of your education needs, thus brining us to the problem of where to get the rest of the funds needed.

The most logical place for students to turn to next is private student loans. However with private loans there is no way around needing a good credit history, and any private lender that tells you otherwise you should be very leery of doing business with.

If you do not have any credit history or good credit history you WILL need a co-signer for private student loans, there is simply no real way around this fact.
