The Hope Scholarship for college (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) is a merit-based college scholarship program for residents (or those who meet resident requirements) in the state of Georgia. Hope Scholarship for college is not based on a students financial need or family income, which makes it a great college scholarship opportunity for applicants meeting the merit requirements. Scholarship applicants must meet a grade point average requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and are subject to meeting additional eligibility requirements as outlined by The Hope Scholarship. The Hope college scholarship award covers the students full college tuition, some additional student fees, and a textbook allowance.
The Hope Scholarship for college is not related to The Hope Credit, which is available to US taxpayers who have accumulated expenses in their first two years of college.
