Clarinda’s Glenn Miller Birthplace Society offers annual college scholarships to vocalists and instrumentalists from across the country. By offering the Glenn Miller Scholarships, Clarinda’s Glenn Miller Birthplace Society hopes to help up and coming young vocalists and instrumentalists reach their dreams of obtaining a college education in a music related field of study. The Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition will award college scholarships of $1000, $2000, and $4000 to instrumentalists, and will also award college scholarships of $1000, $2000, and $4000 to vocalists.
Glenn Miller Scholarship applicants may be high school seniors, or college freshman who entered the Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition as a high school senior, but was not selected to receive a scholarship award. Scholarship applicants are first asked to submit a CD audition, those chosen will advance to a live performance round, with the winners of the live performance round advancing to a final round. Winners of a Glenn Miller Scholarship award may use the money towards college tuition, or any other educational related expense.
