In an effort to help bring awareness to leukemia, and potentially save the life of a blood cancer patient, the Be The Match registry and Do Something have teamed up to offer a $500 Give A Spit Scholarship. The scholarship is open to prospective bone marrow donors who are not otherwise included in a bone marrow registry and who are eligible to participate. Everyone who signs up as a donor and texts “swabbed” to 38383 will be entered to win a $500 college scholarship.
The Give A Spit Scholarship is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. All Give A Spit Scholarship applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 25 at the time they enter the scholarship contest. Two Give A Spit Scholarship winners will be chosen at random. Give A Spit Scholarship winners may use the scholarship money towards any two-year or four-year accredited institution of higher education for an undergraduate or graduate degree.
