Arizona State Financial Aid

State Financial Aid for College...

Just as there is federal Financial Aid for College, the state of Arizona also offers different forms of Arizona state Financial Aid for College in the form of Arizona specific student loans, Arizona specific grants, Arizona specific scholarships, and other state of Arizona specific aid programs.

Before applying for any type of private student loans, you should always check out the financial aid your own state offers, because much like federal student loans and financial aid, the state of Arizona will like have forms of financial aid that will have better rates and terms then a private student loan can offer.

Just as you must file FAFSA for federal Financial Aid for College, the state of Arizona also requires you to file the FAFSA form for consideration of Arizona state aid programs. Essentially by filing your FAFSA, you kill two birds with one stone. When you submit the FAFSA to the US Department of Education, they will simply forward your information on the FAFSA to the Arizona student financial assistance agency.

It is extremely important to note that each state has a different FAFSA submission deadline, and if you miss this deadline you will NOT be eligible to receive ANY state financial aid for the entire academic year.

If you submit your FAFSA by March 1, you will be in time for all state deadlines (other than Michigan).

After filing your FAFSA by the Arizona state deadline, you may also be required to fill out additional forms, or submit additional information, which is why it is important for you to contact the Arizona State Higher Education Agency to make sure you have all your bases covered.
